Candy is an exhilarating musical yet intimate portrait of an independent artist, daughter and ‘bonus’ mother who reinvents herself in difficult times.
World-famous Dutch saxophonist Candy Dulfer has a close relationship with her parents. Her father, a respected jazz saxophonist himself, and mother have always played a major role in her career. Candy has performed with superstars such as Prince and Dave Stewart. When the pandemic breaks out and she can no longer perform, Candy must fight to keep her head above water. She’s concerned about her vulnerable parents, who are getting older, and sorrowful about not be able to pass on the Dulfer name due to unwanted childlessness. Candy, however, does not give up.
