In the series Gazeta, Polish-Dutch journalist Dore van Duivenbode takes up residence in the newsroom of Gazeta Wyborcza, Poland's biggest remaining independent newspaper. She follows the journalists in their struggle with the Polish government. It becomes clear to what extent Poland's press freedom is under attack, even though this is an EU country. While the population is being fed propaganda, Polish democracy is losing out. After the elections on October 15, it may even be all over for the Gazeta.

Episode 3: At War

Whistle-blower Robert Z. receives an unexpected phone call from Deputy Interior Minister Maciej Wąsik. Informants have told him of the meeting in the woods. Investigative journalist Wojciech Czuchnowski explains how attempts are made to blackmail him and his colleagues. Wojciech also has several lawsuits filed against him.

Episode 4: Election Time

Everyone feels the elections getting closer, but the incumbent PiS party is not doing well in the polls. Journalists fear that the ruling party will declare a state of emergency. Investigative journalist Tomasz Piątek receives news of his community service: he has to sweep the streets of Warsaw. He decides to turn it into a publicity stunt. Radio journalist Dominika Wielowieyska leads a heated debate on the adopted law that deals with spying for the Russians. Hundreds of thousands of Poles take to the streets to protest against it.
