Mari wonders what his youth would have looked like had he been born in a different  country than the Netherlands. So, he visits Bana in Italy, who despite her visual disability attends a regular secondary school. In progressive Sweden Mari gets to see what full personal assistance means, and in Greece he is confronted with the ‘medieval horrors’ of life inside an institution.
