Amsterdam Paradise

A dramaseries about young people living in the big city. In this series dozens of stories intertwine with the story of the two main characters, Adam and Eva.

These stories describe the tension between anonymity and intimacy that characterises life in city. Adam (24) moves to Amsterdam. Adam’s new neighbour is Eva (29). Eva is still trying to find her way in life. She struggles with her relationships, her family and herself. She falls in love with her new neighbour. When Eva, unexpectedly and unintentionally, becomes pregnant, the two of them decide to move in together. Eva discovers that Adam’s record is not as clean as she thought, and Adam finds out about Eva's family issues. In the end, their planned marriage falls through. After a serious crisis, Adam and Eva decide to separate. Only when they meet again – almost as strangers – they find that the old chemistry still exists.

Season 2

Season 2 continues with Adam and Eva trying to overcome their relationship crisis and rebuild their confidence in the relationship. Eva is about to give birth to their first child and – like many young parents – neither of them have any idea about what to expect from parenthood and what it will be like to be responsible for raising a child in this world. Whereas the first season highlights the connections between individual people, Season 2 focuses on the relationship between groups of people such as friends, family, neighbours and fellow city dwellers.

The core characters from the first season are therefore given a more prominent role. Eva's best friend and colleague Harm-Jan, Adam's best friend Timo, his boss Dolores and the various family members all return in Season 2 and each of them develops in their own way.
